Jared is arguably Kristof's best friend. Jared is six years older than Kristof and had been the younger boy's role model, until news exploded all over town that he wanted to become a woman.

Jared was 21 then, and he would have run off to another town, if Kristof had not convinced him to stay and do whatever he wanted, to hell with everyone else.

Having worked heavy jobs all throughout his growing-up years, he couldn't quite get rid of his muscles, and he could cut quite a threatening figure if he wanted. He prefers to explore his feminine side now, which he exercises freely at his moderately successful small-town beauty salon.

At night he offers dance lessons, sometimes with the help of Kristof, who is an expert dancer.
