The Author - D. Mandapat

Little is known about the author of this long-running series... actually nothing is known about this author at all. The editor-in-chief of Unbelievers Unlimited once claimed that the magazine receives the raw AoA manuscripts by getting soft copies in their email and hard copies at the building's front door every second Thursday of the month.

Magazine representatives have also refused interviews about the author, though really, they are known to be a secretive lot...

Thanks to this lack of information, the readers of AoA came to their own conclusions about the true personality of the creator. Here are some of the more common speculations:

1. D. Mandapat is a SHE. This is an exceptionally popular theory. You have to wonder why.
2. She is a university undergrad based in Manila - although this theory has no basis.
3. D. Mandapat is a theology professor at a secular college. Actually there's a school of thought that says all the regular authors in Unbelievers Unlimited are theology professors at a secular college, but that debate is reserved for another time...
4. She is a relative of one of the UU editors. Actually this just came from a local forum thread where some bitter wannabe writer was bashing AoA. He claimed to know D. Mandapat personally and presented "him" to be some sort of insanely wealthy, obnoxious, pedophilic hedon. Said thread has long since been deleted.
5. D. Mandapat is clearly a pseudonym, as it's a play on a cheesy old Filipino phrase. You get to guess what it is :P
6. D. Mandapat is more than one person. Fans have said, however, that this is not likely, given the consistency of the writing style.
